Tooth-colored Fillings

Metal fillings were, at one time, the only option for tooth repair. However, these fillings are noticeable, and there are recent concerns that the mercury contained in the metal can cause health problems. Our patients no longer have to bear the burden of unsightly and potentially unhealthy metal fillings. Modern tooth-colored fillings offer a natural-looking alternative to metal fillings. Patients who have metal fillings can have them replaced with tooth-colored fillings at our Warren practice, in Somerset County.

Dr. Forman uses the finest resin and porcelain materials in his tooth-colored fillings to ensure exceptional results for his patients. There are many reasons why tooth-colored fillings are superior to metal fillings. Tooth-colored fillings are matched to the shade of your surrounding teeth so that they blend in discretely. When preparing a tooth for a tooth-colored filling we are often able to save more healthy tooth structure than we could using a metal filling. The tooth-colored material is also very durable and long-lasting, and since it is bonded to your tooth there is little chance that the filling will become loose, as can happen with metal fillings.

If you would like to learn more about tooth-colored fillings, contact our Warren practice, in Somerset County, to schedule a consultation with Dr. Forman today.

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding is very effective in treating gaps, chips, cracks, misalignments, stains, and other dental imperfections. Dental bonding involves placing a resin material on the front surface of a tooth, and then shaping and smoothing it to the desired appearance. The results are similar to porcelain veneers; however, dental bonding can be completed in a single visit to our Warren office in Somerset County.

The dental bonding procedure is relatively simple, and it can quickly improve the appearance of a smile. Dr. Forman begins the process by applying a thin layer of the bonding material to the front surface of each tooth to be treated. He then sculpts the material to the desired shape. By sculpting the bonding material, he can adjust the size and shape of the tooth, fill in small spaces, correct misalignments, conceal cracks and chips, and mask discolorations that don't respond well to tooth whitening treatments. Once the dental bonding material has been sculpted, Dr. Forman will smooth and polish it to a natural-looking shine.

If you are interested in dental bonding, contact our Warren office, in Somerset County, to schedule a consultation. Dr. Forman will help you decide whether dental bonding is the right choice for the results you want to achieve.

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns offer a long-term, aesthetically pleasing solution to your smile woes. At our Union County area cosmetic dentistry practice, Dr. Forman can create a natural-looking crown, which covers the entire tooth like a cap. A dental crown can add strength to a tooth, and protect it from further damage. Crowns are a wonderful solution for any patient who suffers from the pain and discomfort of chipped, cracked, or otherwise damaged teeth. Crowns are especially effective for teeth that have been weakened due to decay or root canal therapy. Each crown Dr. Forman applies is custom-made to ensure a perfect blend among your surrounding teeth.

Dr. Forman's experience allows him to design crowns that will improve your bite, as well as the beauty of your smile. To learn more about dental crowns or other cosmetic dentistry options, please contact the practice of Dr. Steven S. Forman to schedule a consultation.

Digital X-Rays

If you are concerned about exposure to radiation during X-rays, you can rest assured knowing that Dr. Forman uses digital X-rays. They produce 90 percent less radiation than traditional X-rays. They also offer a modern alternative to archaic imaging technology by producing clear, high-quality images immediately after they are taken. The images are much easier to read than those produced by traditional X-ray machines, and they can be viewed on a monitor right in the treatment room.

Dr. Steven S. Forman is committed to improving his patients' oral health without sacrificing their overall health, and one way he upholds this commitment is with the use of digital X-rays.

DIAGNOdent® System

The DIAGNOdent® laser system is the most accurate and efficient method of tooth decay and cavity detection available in modern dentistry. No direct contact with the tooth is required with this system, and the sensitivity of the laser allows cavities and problems in the enamel to be detected up to 10 years earlier than is possible with traditional methods. Dr. Forman often uses the DIAGNOdent® system to check for underlying dental problems before any cosmetic dentistry procedures are performed, such as dental bonding or the placement of tooth-colored fillings, to ensure a healthy foundation for these smile enhancements.

Once a dental problem is detected with the DIAGNOdent® system, Dr. Forman will begin treatment. Dr. Forman's ability to provide fast, efficient, and minimally invasive dental procedures helps to ensure that his patients will maintain their beautiful smiles for years and years to come.
